With the recommend found in Fodor's and Frommer's we booked a two night stay with Nettie's Different of Abaco Island. She took our visa to hold the reservations. When we arrived, myself, husband and 16 year old daughter, she acted as though we had not made a reservation, then said that no one else was staying there, and then suddenly found our reservation that we had booked at $200.00 a night for a room with two double beds. When she found the reservation she said fine but wanted cash in advance and quoted the price at $200 per person, per night. And that did not include a fishing guide or anything! So she wanted $1200 for two nights! Luckily we had asked the cab driver to wait while we made sure everything was ok (The cab ride was $50.00 one way!) When we went back out to the cab and said that we were not staying, the cab drive told us that"Nettie" had walked out to tell him that he would be taking us back to Marsh Harbor.

So, if you are a family wanting to bone fish avoid Netties. She ruined the last two days of our vacation...We had had a beautiful one week vacation on Guana Cay--highly recommend the island!!! But wanted to bone fish for two days before leaving the Bahamas...Nettie made sure that didn't happen. we had no other place to stay and ended up in a dumpy hotel with spiders and roaches--and took a flight out one day early to escape.
