Atlantis to Nassau

July 4th trip to The Cove in Atlantis complex, any info on getting to Nassau for a look around?
Do you go by taxi or rent a car? Any recommendations once in Nassau? We like divey bars, cold beer and funky shopping. Not a fashionista! Like flea market shopping too.

You could walk over the bridge, or taxi. Taxi runs back and forth all day, easy to get from Cove.

Does the water taxi still run? That's how we have gotten to Nassau from the Atlantis.

I have been there July 4 and it is HOT. I would not want to walk to Nassau in that heat and humidity.

You don't need to rent a car. If you are staying at The Cove(which BTW we love) you can afford a taxi. And, yes, it's fun to look at the straw market, etc.

Also, check out Columbus Tavern on Paradise Island, not far from where you are staying.
