Atlantis in the Bahamas w/ niece?

Hi all. I know someone who is taking her 12 year old niece to Atlantis in August. Just wondering if you have any thoughts or suggestions about what they should do. She has already booked the dolphin activity. I have never been, so I am of no help.
Thanks in advance for your wisdom!

I haven't been to Atlantis in years (and, frankly, have little desire to return) but there is little need to plan anything. There is a ton to do there for a 12 year old....swimming, slides, aquarium, etc.

Do tell your friend to bring LOTS of money and be ready to walk long distances. Atlantis is very spread out and nothing is inexpensive.

The 12 year old will love it.

it's been years since i;ve been, but they had a great kids camp when we were there-- looked like alot of fun. If you go on their website, i'm sure they will have a list of kids' activities she can choose from.

She will need to buy a TON of sun screen, August will be HOT and SUNNY most of the time, with showers most afternoons.

Atlantis is a kids paradise, lots to see and do there.

You also might take the ferry over to Nassau, a quick ride, and see some of the historic buildings there. A day trip on the #10 bus to the Ardastra Zoo and Garden is alot of fun.

For some fun shopping there's the Straw Market and for good inexpensive bahamian food, the fish fry on Arawak Cay.

The Poop Deck has good food as well and a nice view just at the foot of the bridge to PI.

Don't know if Johnny Canoe's restaurant is closed with the rennovation going on at Cable Beach, but check who has a Junkanoo the 12yr old will love that as well.
