Atlantis honeymoon

My fiance and I want to go on our honeymoon at the Atlantis. Do you know if the Atlantis ever has any specials and when I should look out for them?

not to discourage you but this is a warning, expect screaming kids everywhere....have you done your research? There are many places to stay for your honeymoon that would be a lot more peaceful and romantic for the same price as Atlantis

Yes Atlantis is offering deals right now, try www.libertytravel.com and some of the other online travel agencies. Also try the Atlantis direct and ask for a honeymoon package.

Atlantis is an exciting place to stay and it is more of a family destination so there will be lots of kids around, however that said alot of people love Atlantis (we do too), the grounds are beautifull, great pools, tanks, lazy river and of course the casino.

Some of the bad reports you will read are exagerated. Oh and the food at the resort is expensive, but it is the same on alot of the carribean.

I would suggest splitting your time with one of the outislands, try Atlantis for a few days then take the fast ferry over to Harbour Island and stay at Romora Bay or Runway Hill.
both are right on the water and small resorts, with GREAT food.

Romora Bay offers honeymoon packages too.

Try their websites www.romorabay.com and www.runawayhill.com

Have a great time and if you need any other info on the Bahamas just let us know.

Thanks for the advice. This is actually the first time that I have heard anything negative about Atlantis. Is the beach there really bad?

It's not that Atlantis is "bad" I just wouldn't consider it a good honeymoon spot because it is geared more towards family. There are many other places to choose from and it is your honeymoon...just a suggestion to do some research before choosing

Lucienne78.. If you have not seen anything negative about Atlantis, you really should do some additional research. You may decide to try it, but there is plenty of negative comments on the boards. (Screaming kids, crowded beaches, tacky surroundings, so-so rooms, bad attitudes, Overpriced food)
For the price, there are some really beautiful properties strewn throughout the caribbean. Or try the out-islands of the bahamas.

We just returned from the Atlantis - interesing place but I would definitely agree with the other posters - not a honeymoon destination. We went for our 10-year anniversary - wished we had stayed for only 2-3 days or actually just visited for a day. Many better places to stay than Atlantis for a honeymoon. And, many better places to stay for the money. I would suggest Compass Point on Paradise Island, or going to one of the out-islands. We did an overnight stay on Harbour Island at the Pink Sands Resort - beautiful! Wish we had stayed there all week - that was very romantic and also very relaxing.

Good luck - my first suggestion would be to do more research.

Lucienne, Dont get anyone wrong here, atlantis is a beautiful resort and definetly a place you should visit while there, but it is just not a honeymoon destination. Its a family destination, very busy, and lots of kids running past you screaming! I agree with harbour island and pink sands though.
