What are really talking about here? Where are you coming from (i.e. what will your airfare cost you) and then what will you have left over in your $2500 budget? I've seen a couple of villa/condo options which will cost under $1000 per week. No matter where you go, the all-inclusives won't be much lower than that. If you're serious about going to St. John, we can help you go over the logistics, but your info. is a bit vague. For example, if your airfare runs you about $450/pp (could be more or less dependent upon where you're coming from)then that's already $900. Say you can get a condo. for $900., that leaves you $700 for the car ($400) and incidentals ($300). You would be paying for food at home, wouldn't you? The prices in the Caribbean are about 15% to 25% higher than home. But if you eat frugally, bring some frozen items, it won't cost you too much for food. The above rough budget is I think pretty do-able. You may have to add a 2-3 hundred bucks on for food, but you'll be living pretty comfortably and doing what you want which is to be on St. John. I think your choice is pretty clear: 1)save enough money to go to St. John; 2)go on a cruise; 3)go to an economic AI somewhere.
