Aruba Restaurant recommendations

Heading to Aruba in just a few weeks and would love to hear anyone's recent dining experiences. Since it can be pricey to dine out on this island, I'd like to try to ensure that we get a great experience each time. I'm looking for both casual and elegant places. Anyone have recent experiences or recommendations???

My experience isn't very recent- I was in Aruba about 10 years ago. We went to a restaurant called Papimiento, and it stands out in my mind as very good. We went to some others that were mediocre including The Mill and The Bucaneer. Of course alot changes in 10 years...

Randall: I've been to Aruba twice and had some very good food.

I've been to the Old Mill and the chicken cordon bleu was excellent, the Buccaneer had the best steaks, the previously mentioned Papiamento (sp?) has a variety of cuisine, but I prefer the fish, and for good Italian, La Dolce Vita (the sweet life) was also very good.

The barbecue chicken at the Americana on "Limbo Night" was good, also. It's not cheap, but hard to go wrong in Aruba for dining out. Always check for specials, too.

Have a good trip!

I was in Aruba last year and am returning in a few weeks also. The best lobster was at the Pirate's Nest located on the beach beside the Costa Linda Resort. It's a must. Also very good and more affordable was a restaurant across the road from the Holiday Inn {can't remember the name.}We also intend to go to the Driftwood in downtown Oranjestaad.

Randall:

Brisas Del Mar is a small seafood restaurant right on the water in Savana (It's about a 15 drive from Oranjestad.
Ruinas Del Mar in the Hyatt Regency is very romantic. Make sure you ask for a table on the patio.
Boonoonoos is actually very good. It has a varied Caribbean menu (downtown in Oranjestad.
If you are a diehard steak fan, then El Gaucho's is good, but if you don't like red meat, it's very overrated.
Have fun!!
