Keith,

It will be a while yet before I can report our experience with MCM. We were supposed to leave tomorrow but we just found out today my husband might have a kidney stone so we are not going, at least not tomorrow. I called MCM and they said we can re-schedule at no charge. We might try to go in November and they said that won't be a problem. I will report back to this thread after we do take this trip, whenever that might be.

Hello all. We returned from our Aruba adventure yesterday. It was a great trip in spite of rain every day!! I'm not kidding, they had record rainfall throughout our trip. All snorkelling tours and other excursions were cancelled for the duration of our stay. We were unable to swim in the ocean by the hotel due to a rough current. But even that did not spoil it for us, it was still great fun, and we did get to snorkel in Baby Beach since it's sort of a protected cove and the water is a lot more calm.

I'll try to post a full report soon, but first I wanted to report on Player's Choice/MCM Tours which handled our booking. We used this company because they offered the most for the money. We stayed at the Radisson for 7 nights for $1,540. This is about the same money as what was being offered by booking directly through the hotel, however thru MCM/Player's we were also given a free breakfast daily, a $200 beverage credit, airport transfers both ways, and some match play coupons for the casino.

The only catch is our booking was non-refundable. As you might recall from my post above, my husband got sick on the day before we left so we had to postpone the trip at the last minute. This was not a problem to rebook, however getting a refund would not have happened since we didn't buy the insurance. In our case it didn't matter since we did eventually go, but if we had decided never to go then it would have been our loss.

It all went very well and there's no question I would book with this company again.

Looking forward to your report. We returned two weeks ago and also stayed at the Radisson. We were much luckier on the weather.

I understand that the pier right next to the hotel was damaged last week?

That is correct, they shut down that pier as the rough tide kept knocking out the wooden slats. They had security there to make sure nobody went out on the pier. They also shut down the pier by the Holiday Inn. I assume it was damaged too but we didn't get a good look at it.
