Hello.

I would like to know if it's possible to take a public bus from the airport in Aruba to the Marriott Stellaris Hotel & Casino. I am travelling alone and did not want to incure the expense of a taxi each way.

Hey Ross,
Don't know the answer, but check aruba-bb.com They are a travel forum totally dedicated to aruba and someone there will know.
We stayed at the Marriott a couple of years ago and it was very nice.

One of the likely reasons you are not getting a response is becuase the buses are typically used by locals, while visitors rent a car or spring for a taxi. I did see a bus station in central Oranjestad, so maybe you can take a bus from the airport to Oranjestad, and another to the hotel area. That's not the way I'd like to start my vacation, but it would be less than a taxi (although 10 times as long).

I am thinking most people don't take the bus to/from the airport hence the lack of responses. I know I wouldn't want to have to haul my luggage on a public bus. A taxi from the airport to the Marriott is $20 each way, which I find to be worth it just for the ease of it all.

I don't know the answer to your question about buses from the airport (we always used cabs) but I would strongly disagree with thit_cho's comment.

We have visited Aruba twice in the last 3 years and apart from the trip to and from the airport - we only used public transport and have never hired a car.

If you like using public transport you will certainly enjoy Aruba's buses.
