Bob, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Aruba in December.
You are correct, the all-inclusive plan is a good
deal. The hotel room I had was very clean and spacious. The food wasn't anything spectacular,
I would say that the standard was fairly decent.
Please e-mail me if you have any specific questions about this hotel.

We've stayed at the Holiday Inn, Aruba twice in the past 6 years. It's about a 3 1/2 star hotel but it's the best place to stay if your looking for a fun beach. Alot of the locals visit the beach there on Sundays and it's fun to mingle with them. Aruba is the friendliest island we've ever visited and also the safest.

We stayed there for two weeks last november and love it - it's very good value (especially if you're Canajun, eh) because the only other two all-inclusives are more expensive but HI is on the far more superior beach. Arguably the food is standard hotel fair but you will save enough on the whole deal to go out and splurge on a nice meal somewhere. Write me if you want, with details on what you're into (diving, snorkelling, water sports, day trips, etc) and I can give you more specifics. Go for it!

I replied to this once, but apparently my message did not take or you may end up reading it twice. We stayed at the Hoilday Inn Aruba last July for two weeks and had a wonderful time. We had an "ocean front" room with a great view. The beach is very nice and the breezes are great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This is not a 5 star hotel, but I would recommend it and stay there again. I would not get the all inclusive mael plan, as I think the price is high and the food was not that good. We had a package with the breakfast buffet included every morning and that is well worth it. We compared the price we paid for meals to the charge of the all inclusive and felt we did not better eating lunch and dinner on our own. There are a number of restaurants within a short walking distance of the hotel and a rib place is just acrtoss the street. We had dinner beach buffet at the hotel one night and it was the worst food we had while we were there. McDonald's is a short walk for a cheap lunch. If you are touring during the day you will need to buy your own lunch anyway. Out front of the Holiday Inn at the end of a pier is a small restaurant that had good food, not expensive, a great setting, but a limited menu. Have fun, but eat your meals (other than breakfast) somewhere else than the Holiday Inn.
