Anyone been to Harbour Island recently ?

Getting close to our travel date for Harbour Island - has anyone been there recently ?? Looking for some recommendations - restaurants ? things to do ? etc. Are most of the restaurants beachy casual ? Does husband need long pants ? Anything else I need to know will be helpful !!

Just back yesterday from Harbour Island and Eleuthera. We are a family with 2 kids aged 13 and 7. We only spent one day on Harbour Island as day trip from Eleuthera. We arrived at the dock with the motor taxi. We rented a 4 seater golf cart fo $ 50 for the whole day to move around the island, which to be honest takes less than 20 minutes !! You may watch around some nice coloured houses but the main highlight is the beach !! Long, wide and pink ! We loved it.

Absolutely no need to wear long pants in restaurants. Everything is casual on the island !!

Rock House was the only place we saw the men in long, linen pants. It's a little dressier but things change I guess.

Yes, the pink-sand beach is gorgeous!

And, go to SipSip for a drink and appetizers. Also, Blue Bar at Pink Sands resort is nice, too. And both are on the pink beach. We enjoyed an afternoon cocktail at Valentine's patio watching the fishing boats arriving and showing off their catch.

If you have several days, hire a boat for the day to take you to Eleuthera and explore the north end -- Spanish Wells, the cave, and deserted beaches-- we really enjoyed that. Or, if you like to game fish take a day for that, too. We hired a local pilot to fly us around the area of Exuma. The views were spectacular and something we'll never forget.
