And the search continues...

I was set for my vacation to Barbados at the Bougainvillea Resort during may, when i found out today that it was all booked up!
Now I'm back at square 1.
I'm planning a trip with my boyfriend and we are looking for a not all inclusive, excellent nightlife, and beautiful/safe resort with great beaches and lots of water activities. I'm just looking for a relaxing but eventful time I will remember for a lifetime.
We've considered either a 2 week vacation in mexico (cancun) , or maybe just a week's vacation somewhere like aruba or jamacia (or anywhere in the hearts of the caribbean islands)
Please help us out! I'm open to all suggestions, what do ya think?

For this May? Now you've learned a lesson to book early.

Perhaps Aruba is still a possibility - so many hotels there, I can't imagine they would all be booked! Aruba is very safe and full of resorts with beautiful beaches and lots of water activities. Good luck!

There will be dozens of places that you can still get into for May. Just to give you an idea, check out Expedia's vacation packages for the time in May you want to get away.

Jamaica is probably your best bet for good package rates and availability.

Also check www.cheapcaribbean.com for lots of packages, many of which are last minute.

Don't worry--you'll still find a place to have agreat time for a week in May!

Thanks for all the positive input, i appreciate it.. and for the negative comment, i think brentsweet's got a point
What i'm considering the most are aruba, cancun and jamacia. But what i'm not sure about for Aruba is, how much is there to do? I know it has lots of casinos, but is there anything else? Our best bet will prob be one of those last minute packages..

Dear Kobi,
Just think of yourself as a spur of the moment adventurer. I hope you have a wonderful vacation whenever, wherever you go.

Why didn't you select an alternate hotel in Barbados. Southern Palms is a moderate resort near Bougainvilla with all the amenities, close to nightlife with a beautiful beach. Southern Palms is older and plainer than Bougainvilla but it still has a lot to offer.

How about Bequia, the largest of the Grenadines. You can keep your flights to Barbados, then take a quick hop from there. Nice beaches, snorkeling, diving, great boating, safe, nightlife is not widespread, but something will be happening each night.
