Alternatives to Grand Cayman

I recently returned from my eighth trip to Cayman in the last 15 years. I'll probably go back, but I'd really like to find an island that's like Cayman was 15 years ago.

Most important to me are:
(1)Long stretch of continuous beach (e.g. SMB in Cayman or Negril) for walking and beachcombing.
(2)Low rise condo (3 or 4 stories tops, 20 or so units) right on the beach with patio or balcony for sunset viewing.
(3)Shore snorkeling by condo.
(4)Trees or huts on the beach for shade.

I've also been to Bahamas, Jamaica, Aruba, St. John.

Thanks for any ideas.

Isla Mujeres, Mexico - an island off Cancun. It's also much less expensive. It's not for everyone but we enjoy it - spent 5 weeks this past winter. Much more economical also.

Anguilla and/or T&C.

If you want Cayman 50 years ago, maybe Barbuda.

Meridian Club, Pine Cay- but you're captive for meals and in season it's pricey. (You pay for incredible beach and beautiful water, not typical luxury accomodations)

Provo - Turks and Caicos
Coral Gardens is where you would want to stay for snorkeling.

Chitownredbird,

After you find one & go, please let us know. We have been looking for the same thing.

Didn't Rum Point used to be really neat. I expected real pirates to sit down beside me at the little bar that used to be there.
