All this talk about Sandals....I'm getting nervous!

I must say, after coming to this forum for the first time a week ago, it has been very useful in the planning for our trip to Negril. We ALL have different tastes and ideas about the "pefect" vacation, and this chat site helps us determine what accomodations are best for each of us. With that being said, the useful information everyone provided here made us realize that Sandals was definitely not the dream AI for us. I hope Lisa and John find the right resort for their wedding.
They are right Lisa, it isn't too late to change your mind. One of the things someone stated here when I posted a question last week was to "NOT not listen to the negative feedback and only listen to the positive". The negative is there for a reason. She said that she had done that last Thanksgiving and now regrets it. Just decide what things are important to you and John as a couple and then make that educated decision. After all, it's about the two of you! Please keep us all posted. My hope. . . and please let me know all you posters, is that everyone does give a follow up report on what they eventually chose and how it went! Safe journey!

Message: You've got many many years before you become as critical as I and others can be about vacations to the islands. Go, enjoy, laugh, cry, but most of all "Don't worry, Be Happy"! This is YOUR lifetime moment, we are here on these posts because we like to gripe about places we have been to that don't meet our standards or expectations, but if I'm with the one I love NOTHING can take that away or make it "awful". Come back to this board and tell us how wonderful it was!!

I have been to Sandals: Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and last trip was to Royal Bahamian. The Royal was wonderful. Take the boat over to the island and walk all around (where shoes!!!)if you have your own snorkel gear bring it and snorkel on the opposite side of where the boat launches (do this on a not so windy day). Go out and just drift back or swim to where the water is deeper with weeds, coral, etc... and you will see fish. Around the boat landing there is a small pile of rocks & tons of fish. I brought fruit loops and fed them and took lots of pictures with a cheap underwater camera. Just make sure it is a bright sunny day.
I had a massage outside by the beach and it was heavenly. Go to the exercise room at night and day and take pictures out on the landing!
It is a wonderful resort and beautiful but remember you are in another area and things arent all "Americanized". I felt quite safe at the straw market and wished we had spent the money to see "Atlantis" for a day. Will go back to this resort when I have just a 5 day vacation or when I need it!!!
