Airfare prices NYC to STT

I'm starting to look at airfare prices from NY to St. Thomas for late March/early April '07. Right now it is about $480 per person for a non-stop round trip, and I'm wondering what a "good" price is. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated--thanks!!!

I'm not sure what you are accustomed to paying, but to me that sounds like a very good price. I paid a LOT more than that when I booked a couple of months out this year when we went the end of March. We fly out of Detroit and connect in either Philadelphia or Charlotte. I have been watching fares for our November trip and they have been in the $580-$630 range right now. I realize it is from a different destination, just trying to give you an idea.

I just came back from STT/St John. I watched the air prices for about 6 months...they were lowest about 60 days before the flight date. The price was $480 for quite some time but went down to $403 60 days before.

Thank you so much for your responses! I think I might book tomorrow...for a non-stop, it looks like a good price!

I think it's a good price, esp. if you are traveling on weekends.

For weekdays, you might do a bit better - or maybe not! (fuel prices are having an impact).

I was seeing $480 from EWR until today. Today it's gone up to $656 non-stop to STT. Guess I'll wait another week to book and hope it goes back down. BTW, we paid $650 something last year, but booked way in advance.
