Advice for next island hopping trip? Unique experiences?
My fiance and I have loved our previous trips thanks to this forum! Our favorites were a trip we did to St. John (Caneel Bay) 3 days, 1 day Yost Van Dyke, 2 days Virgin Gorda (Little Dix), we especially loved The Baths. Then we did a short 4 day trip to Bio Bay on Vieques, loved it. Our other favorite was the trip to Maui, Kauai, and Oahu which included snorkeling, hang gliding, helicopter ride over the rain forest, hiking, and amazing beaches. We like trips that offer nearby islands for day trips or to split the trip. We are traveling from Ft. Lauderdale.
I am unsure what to plan for our next trip. We like to see/do unique things, (loved the baths & bio bay, looking for more unique experiences). Maybe volcano hiking, hot springs, horseback riding, yoga or beautiful spas or maybe something we haven't heard of? We like to see nearby islands either for day trips or to split the trip. We also like to be active rather than sit on a beach all day (in Vieques we rode bikes, walked, and rented a moped to go to the beaches, in Virgin Gorda we loved yoga on the cliff top, we also loved the beautiful cliff top outdoor massages in Jamaica).
Other ok Caribbean trips I have been on were to Belize, Ocho Rios Couples Sans Souci, Bahamas like 6 times, Maya Riviera, Cancun, and Guanacaste Costa Rica. Also loved a recent trip to Malaysia, Phi Phi Islands Thailand, and Siem Reap Cambodia.
Any advice is much appreciated!
Thx!

i think you might like st. lucia. has volcano, hiking in rainforest, hike on pitons. much travel done by water taxi.
or if you want to do inter island travel (like you did in bvi-by ferry) st.vincent & the grenadines. what may well be the best caribbean snorkeling is at tobago cays, which can only be reached by boat. you can go from union or palm islands or stay there overnight on boats. each of these island has it's own style but all are lush & hilly - well not palm. plenty of hiking. palm island & raffles on canouan are high end resorts.
barbados is accessible from either st.lucia or st.v & g, using liat airlines, for a completely different kind of island - not as lush, more developed.

you can island hop between St. Maarten, St. Barts, Saba, and Anguilla - if you loved the BVI's - I know you'd love these islands as well.....Saba is hiking.....St. Barts is beautiful (people and island itself)....Anguilla - beaches are unbeatable (except Turks & Caicos)...and St. Maarten - would be my home base.......

Thank you for these suggestions! I will most likely do some planning ahead and try to do these trips in the future. I am trying to do a trip this month and now am looking into a cruise, or Morocco, or Iceland..lol I have to make the most of my vacation time!
