Abacos-Elbow Cay-Turtle Inn, Hope Town Lodge, Hideaways or Seaspray

Have small children (5&6) looking for main bedroom, living room with pullout couch is fine for boys, kitchen, beach. Turtle Hill looks like a fit, golf cart thrown in; boat dock for free etc.. Is the beach close? calm water there on Atlantic side of Elbow Cay?

Haven't stayed at Turtle Hill on Elbow Cay -- only Seaspray and Abaco Inn. EVERYTHING on Elbow Cay is close to the beach -- the island is only about 4 miles long, and only yards wide at different points. However, the Atlantic side beaches are not necessarily calm ... for calm, I recommend Tahiti Beach (there are no inns there, just a few rental homes; Seaspray and Abaco Inn are a 15 minute walk away).

Callaloo, thx and understand about the beaches; trying to minimize the walk for the little ones when staying at the hotel; but your right we will rent a boat and can get to Tahiti or others. Abaco Inn as I understand it is mostly couples; Seaspray I understood to be surfing beach?

You'll have no problem walking to the ocean beach from Turtle Hill; you'll probably hear the surf from your cottage.

Abaco Inn is a bit stodgy/stuffy/clubby -- nice, but you're right about not quite having a family vibe.

Seaspray would be fine for families (and it's a few moments' walk to the Abaco Inn), but it is the site of the Garbanzo Break where the surfers go. Also, the entry into the water is rocky, so while the beach is nice for walking, it's not as nice for swimming. Stick with Turtle Hill for that.

Also, Turtle Hill is really convenient to town. On location alone, Turtle Hill sounds like it meets your needs. As hinted at before, perhaps the only better option for you would be to find a villa via one of the rental companies (like Hopetown Hideaways).
