35+ single & married gals getaway trip advice!

Me and my girlfriends are looking for a great destination for get away from the kids and celebrate turning 40 (well some of us!) We are looking at a 5 day vacation in the middle of April.

We are looking for a destination to lay on the beach/by the pool, go out for delicious dinners, and then party the night away!

The things that are most important to us are the following:
White sand beaches
Great night life
All-inclusive
Upscale Resort & clientele

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Cancun, Mexico

Not all inclusive:
Fiesta Americana Grand Aqua - new - great restaurants, beach nightclub
Le Meridien Cancun - great spa, great pool.

Better yet:
Secrets Resorts Riviera Maya
adults only - all inclusive

Have a wild women getaway!

Aruba has white sand beaches and good food and gambling. I wouldn't recommend all inclusive here. There is a very nice Hyatt, Marriott and Raddison on the island. I would lean towards Hyatt and Radisson as being more in the middle of things.
Atlantis in the Bahamas is a quick trip from the east coast. It has white sandy beaches, great pools, you can get a gourmet meal plan and has gambling at night.

Still major issues with the FAGA a few months after opening. Disappointing issues in terms of front desk service, e.g., after waiting for an hour or two, finally getting into room and discovering it's not what you booked. Aaaa! Bags not there when you arrive at room (though your bags have, like you, been at the hotel for several hours waiting); and having to go fetch them from the place at which they'd been sitting all that time unbeknownst to you. Being promised the room you booked for the second night, re-packing your things, etc. only to be told when you finally get back to hotel the second night (after day trip) that said room is "broken". This particular debacle was followed by a promise finally kept -- a suite for the final night of stay (easy enough for them, as the suites were empty and there were no departing guests to clean up after).

There's also the matter of being billed for an oceanfront room with double terrace despite their knowing full well that you'd been in a basic room for two nights out of three, and even that rate is 10% higher than the one confirmed (for the room you didn't receive).

Too afraid to use room service, figuring that would go as well as everything else. Went down to the Siete restaurant and got coffee and pastries put in containers and took them back to the room. This shouldn't happen at a 5-star.

All that said, it's a really nice hotel. Not worth the price given these circumstances, but .... If you're a patient person who can deal with inexplicable issues that could have been easily avoided, you'll be okay. Just don't blow up if you have to stand there watching the front desk staff standing around watching *another* front staffer trying to deal with a naturally irate guest instead of helping the other 8 guests who are waiting to be assisted.

I suspect things are all right when there isn't a convention or other large meeting at the hotel, though these events should not affect a 5-star establishment as profoundly as they do at FAGA.

De Seo/Playa del Carmen or Maroma, also Yucatan and about 1/2 hour south of Cancun would be good choices, the latter more upscale, the former more 'hip'.
