mdritto,
Just returned from Provo, Turks/Caicos for our 25th wedding anniversary trip and we couldnt of picked a finer place to go other than St. John of which we have already been to twice.
The island is very hot/arid but with umbrellas/thatched covered seating areas at every resort. It is an island for just the things you mentioned. Great place to swim, snorkle(right in front of the Coral Gardens property-which has beautiful accomodations with the whole front wall that slides back and you have that feel of only 3 sides),many great beaches to walk almost by yourselves, absolutely great restaurants, very little shopping and the crowds that come with it, very quite night life with a dinner/drinks out with live music at some place every night if you want(2 or 3 person ensemble)-Absolutely beautiful water, easy to fly into and just a great overall place.
You will need a taxi or rental car to get out and about to go to the restaurants or down to the underwater trail at Coral Gardens if you do not stay there if you do not want to walk very far.
Safe Travel and congratulations, it is just the place to reflect, laugh, reminence, and plan for the next 25 yrs. together.

You might look into Timothy Beach Resort, St. Kitts or Nisbet Plantation, Nevis or both. We plan to travel to both resorts next year. Travelers reviews at Where2Stay.com. Flight to Nevis with Nevis Express. You can view both properties by typing out the above resorts in Google.

We vacationed at the all inclusive Super Clubs Grand Lido Braco in Runaway Bay, Jamaica a few years ago and it was terrific. Adults only 16+--long white beach, shade and at the time the largest pool in Jamaica. Several restaurants to choose from including a bakery. Runaway Bay is about 40 mins. drive from Montego Bay and is a much more quiet area than Montego or Ochos Rios.
