1st post -Overdue honeymoon

My wife and I are taking a overdue trip this year and it looks like we've settled on somewhere in the caribbean, and we're thinking St. John-

We're considering Gallows' as they have a lot of great reviews and we're the type of couple that likes to explore, walk to restaurants etc. We're not really the mega-resort types-

My wife is an avid horseback rider though and St. John doesn't appear to offer that- Are there other islands that are similar in flavor maybe that you can suggest?

We're 40'ish and aside from the other stuff mentioned we love the beach, love restaurants, a bit of shopping and exploring- and we both jog/run a few miles a day-

Thanks for the help

Hi there,
You will LOVE Gallows, and St John. I'm not sure what type of horseback riding you are interested in, but you can go riding out of Coral Bay. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. I think we're choosing betwen Harbour Island, Bahamas and St. John.

Is the area you mentioned near Gallows?

I am sure that we'll rent a car anyways

Thanks again-
Jim

Hi there,
Coral Bay is on the other side of
St John, but it only takes about 25 - 30 mins to get there. I know it sounds like a long time but you only drive about 20 miles per hour and the views are wonderful. Gallows is in Cruz Bay, fabulous area, all the restaurants are in walking distance and ZoZo's restaurant is on property and you will be minutes from all the north shore beaches. Great snorkling off the Gallows "beach". We had 20 of our friends stay at Gallows last year and every one of them LOVED it. Let us know where you decide to go, and if I can help with anything else just post.
Happy planning
