Worth a drive to Mt Tremblant to shop? Also, Montreal karaoke?
I will be in Montreal next week and thought I would take a drive to Tremblant.
Are there cool shops. I specifically like hand made items.
If not, where exactly should I go.
I am willing to drive 1.5 hour in any direction from Montreal.
Thanks y'all!
Oh, also... is there any decent karaoke place in Montreal?

Teh shops I've seen in Mont Tremblant include a good photograph gallery and many stores selling very expensive sports wear for adults and children.
On the way to Mont Tremblant there are several towns in the Laurentien Mountains where there are lots of interesting small shops.
I think you'll dop better on the way than when you arrive.

From what I've heard, the best karaoke place is on Crescent Street, called Vocalz, it's nestled among bars and pubs and restaurants on a popular street; it's between Ste Catherine st and de Maisonneuve, very central. I've been there once when DD's boyfriend worked there.

The drive is beautiful up to Tremblant so definately go - St. Saveur has some nice shops along their main street and it's about half way up to Mt. Tremblant. Just before you get to Mt. T. you will go through St. Jovite and they too have lots of good shops - nice gift stores etc. Mt. T. has lots of stores too and make sure you go to the old original town as well not just at the base of the Mountain. A must when you are there - have a "Beaver Tail" a Quebec pastry - it melts in your mouth - there is a small shop that sells them at the left side of the square. Also there is a really good store in the square - between the Mexican restaurant (can't remember the name)and the homemade fudge store that has some really good quality Quebec pottery, art and other hand made items.
Probably the best side trip within 90 minutes of Montreal.
