Winnipeg to S. Ontario

Need an itinerary of where to stop for overnight Winnipeg through N. ON with dog.

Also where does one stay in Mississauga, Hamilton, Brantford with their 50 lb dog other than bum with a relative?

We can tell you about a borading kennel in Oakville (between Mississauga and Hamilton) that seems to be a favorite place of some dogs we know, but can't comment on dog-friendly hotels.

Stay tuned; we may learn more.

Generally, most Best Western hotels are pet-friendly. Check the individual websites to be sure.

Also, check out www.petfriendly.ca. We used that when we travelled across the country from Toronto to Victoria with our cat.

Try the Motel 6 Chain: they are everywhere here in Canada. They are pet-friendly. Now, I am not sure about that 50 lb pooch, but they have never made us weigh ours!

We just stayed in one in Burlington Vermont that was playing host to a Kennel Club event with mastiffs and deer hounds and all the really big guys seemed to be welcome at the Motel 6 we stayed at there.

Very basic, but clean...
