Whistler: Pan Pacific or Westin
If anyone has any comments regarding either of these hotels I would appreciate it. I am looking specifically for impressions regarding the level of service and luxuriousness of the rooms. I have already visited their websites.

Thank you.

I've stayed at the Pan Pacific and liked it. The service was fine (not spectacular, but fine) and the suites are nice. I looked at a suite at the Westin when I was up there in March and thought it was VERY nice (a notch nicer than the PP), but bigger and busier than I prefer. But I haven't stayed there yet.

I stayed at the Westin last weekend. We were given a junior suite with a view and the room was really nice. The bed was incredible - the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel.
If you are a resident of British Columbia (or if you can talk them into giving you the rate even though you're not) they are offering a rate of $129 Canadian per night (minimum 2 nights) which includes a $39 per night food credit in their restaurant.

The Westin Suites are outstanding. They all have full kitchens and most have a large living/dining area with a lovely fireplace, (gas), and a small bedroom with a large attached bathroom. You could be very comfortable living in thaose suites. They do have a full range though from one large room with kitchen to sumptuous two level two bedroom apartments so make sure you know in advance what you're getting.
The restaurants are OK - certainly good for breakfast- but there are so many really terrific restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk that are really better and more reasonable.
The weight room carries an extra charge but not use of the pool or steam - go figure - and the pool is one of those half in half out types.
We've stayed in about 3 or 4 places in Whistler, (not the Pan Pacific) and the Westin is definately the best.
