Whistler Hotels - nice but quiet

Hi,

My husband and I will be travelling to Whistler in mid-January are can't decide on a hotel.

There are some good prices available at the Crystal Lodge, Whistler Village Inn, and Timberline Lodge, all well located in the village.

I am concerned about the quality of these hotels, as well as the noise level from the street, given their locations.

Can anyone suggest a nice, quiet hotel in the village, without breaking the bank (i.e., no Pan Pacific or Westin please).

Is the Delta Whistler Resort a good compromise?

Thanks,

Lisa.

we stayed at the mountain side lodge the end of june. it was not on a busy street so it was very quiet. the one suite was very nice. the bedroom had it's own sitting area, fireplace, bathroom. the living area had a small living room, fireplace, kitchen table, basic kitchen and another full bathroom. had a hot tub and swimming pool.

"one bedroom suite"
pull out couch in living room
full kitchen
$146.25

4417 sundial place"

If you want quiet, try a private rental through www.alluredirect.com This site lists hundreds of ski out condos that will be very quiet and have own kitchen, many have pools and hottub (ever swam in the snow??) We've had a 1BR place for $500 for an entire week in August located in the Benchlands area..nice and close the village, but much quieter!

I guess I should qualify our request.

Our most important criteria is being in Whistler Village, close to the gondola.

That said, we also want a place that is relatively quiet, given that proximity to the gondola may mean being close to the many bars.

Thanks,

Lisa.

The Delta Whister is next to the Westin, which is right next to the lifts. It is a step down form the Westin but it appears to be one of the better hotels around. However, it may not be much cheaper than the Westin (whichn is where I stayed and which I believe was a great hotel). The majority of the other hotels are nothing more than a small lobby and a place to sleep, which may be all that you require. The Westin has more amenities that you may not use such as indoor outdoor pool, spa, shops, restaurants.

Hi Jacolis

I would really recommend the Delta Whistler Village Suites - we had a great time.

It was a very quiet hotel given that its in the middle of the shops and restaurants etc. The service was nice and friendly and the rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable.

Considering your new criteria, I would definitely suggest Westin, nice cozy rooms with fireplace inside, and its right next to the gondola. No hassles, and has free shuttle to nearby places. Has small kitchen and electronic dishwasher, just in case you need.

Have you considered priceline? There were good prices on Delta Resort last year>
There was also an internet rate that included breakfast (non-refundable) that was much less than the Westin, and the full kitchen was a plus.
