Which of these Toronto hotels?
The kids(ages 12 and 15)and I are vacationing without my husband this summer since he can't get away. I'm trying to decide among several hotels. We'll be arriving by car so I'll need parking, but we plan to walk and use public transportation to get around so we'd like a location close to the subway and attractions. We'd like a pool and I plan to spend $100 - $150 a night US. Which of these hotels would you recommend?

Courtyard by Marriott on Yonge (is this a safe area?)
Toronto Colony
Novotel (on Esplanade)
Delta Chelsea

Thanks for your help!
Hi Pat,
I live in Toronto, so I don't really know what the hotels are like from inside or pricewise...
Try expedia.com for pricing
As of location, all the hotels you specified are very close to one another and all in downtown core.
I dont know if colony offers a pool..
I like the novotel location, close to front street and saint lawrence market.
All of them are in safe areas, so this is not an issue. If you need further help, feel free to contact me.
Try to bargain the parking spot.

I would say the Delta or the Novotel. Delta is near the Eaton's Centre and Hard Rock Cafe where kids like to shop/hang out. Novotel is across the street from The Old Spaghetti Factory which is a fabulous palce for kids. For mom though, the location of the Novotel is more interesting.

Hubby and I have stayed twice now in the Novotel, on recommendation from my brohter and sister-in-law. Right across from Spagetti Factory and around the corner from the Keg; right near to the Air Canada Centre and the CN tower, right near subways and shops; pool is really nice and rooms are big and clean; staff in the bar and reception are very pleasant.

Cant comment on the others as we only have ever stayed at the Novotel

Here's a tip, don't park in lots that have big signs and gentlemen waving you in. Look for the Green letter "P". Comparison - At the Old Spaghetti Factory there are three lots, one adjecent, one across the street, and one BEHIND the one across the street which is a 5-story parking facility. The adjecent one can cost you $25. The one across the street usually costs between $10-$20. But if you seek out that hallowed Green "P" my friends, the parking fee will be between $1-3. Why? Because you have to take your ticket with you and pay before you get back into your car. Enjoy Toronto!
