Where to stay in Halifax?

I am not quite sure on how Halifax is set up. we would like to stay there for a couple of nights. Where do people recommend staying?

Be sure to stay downtown. Halifax is quite small so if you stay anywhere else you will have a loss of "ambiance". You may find some listings for Dartmouth, which is across the harbour. Be sure not to stay there.

You can get the Westin Nova Scotian on Priceline for $40 a night.

Hi,

I stayed at that very same Westin Nova Scotian for about $42 U.S. per night and found it quite suitable location-wise for the city attractions.

Could walk to "Spring Garden Road", which is the happening, trendy street for the city with five college student bodies populating the area.

Also walked to the midtown area, the Nautical/Maritime museum, eateries, etc.

Could walk to the waterfront, "Citadel Hill", and more.

Even if you've not used Priceline before, it would be worth taking a shot and trying to get the Westin at a deep discount.

Update:

Someone on another thread just reported securing the Westin Nova Scotian on Priceline for $40 per night U.S. $$$ over Memorial Day Weekend this year.

So you can still get it at that great rate!
