Where in Quebec for 2-3 nights of autumn foliage viewing?

We're planning a very short driving trip to Quebec (from the NYC area) during the first week of October. Aside from a couple of nights in Quebec City, we'd like to spend 2-3 nights someplace where the autumn foliage viewing/photography might be good. I've looked at the Tremblant area, but would appreciate other recommendations. FWIW we'll be probably visiting a friend in the Eastern Townships coming or going, and also making a brief stop in Trois-Rivières at some point.

Thanks in advance.

...And of course, that would be 2-3 days of foliage viewing... doh.

The Eastern Townships and the Megantic region just east of the Township are excellent. That's where you,ll the most deciduous trees. If you're going to Trois-Rivières, La Mauricie park is good, as well as the Mauricie river valley (highway 155). In Quebec city, anywhere outside the city is good, Jacques-Cartier park for exemple. I'd suggest going to Cap Tourmente for the Snow Geese migration.

in the Eastern Townships, we have enjoyed the area around Knowlton and the abbey of Saint-Benoît-du-Lac on Lake Memphrémagog. There are also vineyards and cideries to explore.
