What to do when it's raining in Whistler

I am taking my husband on a surprise trip to Whistler for his birthday this weekend. I had hoped to do some hiking and other outdoor activities while there, but I just looked up the weather and it's supposed to rain most of the weekend. We are staying at the Westin, and would love some suggestions of how we can enjoy Whistler during the rain. We're coming up from Seattle so we had hoped to get out of the rain! Oh well...

Well, unless it's about his 90th birthday, I'm sure you can think of some romantic way to while away the time during the rain. (WINK)

Let's see??? Ther's the museum, the library, Meadow Park rec center, with a pool, gym, skating rink, & squash courts. There's an 8 screen cineplex, pub crawling, lots of art galleries, a great book store, 40 or so restaurants, the gonadola ride up Whistler for lunch at Steeps Grill, The farmers market on Sunday, lots of Realtor open houses on the weekend, and actually, it will probably only be showers anyways...Have fun. Cheers, Al

Thanks for the suggestions, Whistler Al. I ended up cancelling our hotel in Vancouver for Friday night and adding a night at Whistler because it looks like there is so much to do and see. We've been to Vancouver lots of time, but never made the journey northward to Whistler. Thanks again!

I know I am in the minority...but hiking in the rain is an absolute favorite for me! Yes, my whole family thinks I am nuts, lol! But honestly...you get the trails to yourself and see more wildlife that way...plus its freedom to stomp in mud puddles
