Waterton Lake

Planning a trip to Waterton and down into Glacier, late summer. Would love any information on reasonable, comfortable lodging, with a view. Any ideas? Also, if we only have 3-4 days to do both parks what are the "must sees" we should put on our list?

Thanks for you help.

Least expensive with a view would probably be the Bayshore, an older but well maintained motel. Has a good dining room and large lounge area. Right on the lake. Most rooms have balconies but try to get one on the lakeside. Better is the Kilmorey. Excellent dining, I haven't seen the rooms but the place is very nice. Quite a bit more money. Luxurious would be the Waterton Glacier Suites. Really nice rooms. They have a web page as does the Bayshore. Reservations would be required.

We are staying at Waterton Lakes Lodge. I was wondering what others have to say about this accomodation.

Just came back from Waterton stayed at Crandell Mountain Lodge. It was very nice cozy rooms nicely decorated very clean and the owners very friendly. About a two block walk into town.
We took the Jammer bus tour in Glacier Park. We took the all day tour that does Going to The Sun road. Picked it up at Many Glacier Hotel. Would highly recommend it, The buses have canvas roofs that open so you get a wonderful view. It was quite cold when we started out so you would need to dress warm.

We stayed at the Kilmorey Lodge and liked it a lot. The boat cruise on Waterton Lake was relaxing and beautiful. Make sure to have insect repellent though. There's a short stop at the ranger station and the mosquitoes are vicious!

We stayed at Crandall Mountain Lodge a few years ago - loved our little "flat" we had for a week, and as carol said, very clean, very friendly owners. Hikes we enjoyed -
Linehan Creek Trail has incredible views; Bertha Falls was another good one;the Lakeshore Trail to Bertha Bay is a lovely hike and you can break/picnic on the dock on Bertha Bay. We drove into Glacier one day and hiked to Red Rock Falls.
Enjoy your trip!
ja

The Waterton Lodge is one we checked into and right out of last Fall as the bathtub had not been cleaned. There was still a used washcloth in the shower.
The Bayshore is our favorite in Waterton for the location - right on the water, but you have to get a room on the lake side. Rooms are not terrific inside. There is one called the Glacier Suites Hotel (I think that is the name) and it was beautiful inside. Tastefully decorated, very clean. Not a bad location, Waterton is so small, everything is close.
We found the rooms at the Kilmorey very small and the sound carried. Nice location, though.
