There are duty free stores at the two crossings driving into the US. The truck crossing (which is usually a little quicker than the Peace Arch) the store phone number is 604-538-3222. They have a website http://www.westcoastdutyfree.com/ If you aren't familiar with this crossing they do have driving directions. It is very easy you just take the last exit off 99 before the border to 176th and turn right. The other store at the main crossing Peace Arch Duty free 604-536-8500. I think if you call them ahead of time and ask what they carry in the way of single malts and Irish whiskey would give you a good idea. They will definitely be cheaper than getting it in Canada. Also the limit for US citizens returning is one litre (approx 35oz) but it says that the duty on extras would be approx $2-$3 per bottle. Hope this was helpful!! By the way - you could stop at a the duty free on the US side on the way up and buy a bottle there.
