Vancouver - restaurant on Robson

Can anyone recommend a good restaurant on Robson street? (We are staying at the Pacific Palisades hotel and will be arriving in the evening, so want something nearby.) For the next night (Friday), we are also looking for a good restaurant elsewhere in Vancouver - maybe somewhere we could combine with some late afternoon exploring. Is Gastown a good place to walk around before dinner? We are open to anything casual to upscale. Thank you!

On Robson I've always liked Cin Cin. Perhaps Vancouverites will have other suggestions.

Another vote for Cin Cin for your restaurant on Robson.

For your other night, some other favorites are Le Crocodile, Bluewater, C, Raincity, West and Vij's. The latter two are over in the South Granville neighborhood on the other side of the Granville Bridge from downtown so you either need to drive or take a cab.

For your walking around, I'd go with Yaletown over Gastown, personally.

I agree with previous poster that Yaletown is preferred over Gastown for evening walk. There are several very good restaurants in that area, too. Do Gastown one afternoon and perhaps have lunch at the Waterside Cafe. (I think that is the name--across from the steam clock.) I had dinner at the upscale "C" restaurant. The location is on the water and if weather permits, you can sit outside. From the Pacific Palisades you can walk down Robson to Denman Street where there are a few smaller restaurants.

I love Joe Fortes restaurant--I think it's just a block off Robson. They have a very neat outdoor roof garden as well.
