vancouver hotels
My family will be in Vancouver this August, and we're between two hotels: the Grand Hyatt or the Fairmont. I read people's comments and reviews, but I'm still unsure. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

Which Fairmont, the Hotel Vancouver or the Waterfront? And do you mean the Hyatt Regency on Burrard (I don't think Vancouver has a Grand Hyatt)?
I've stayed at all 3 and of them I prefer the Fairmont Waterfront, with the Hotel Vancouver 2nd and the Hyatt a distant 3rd (it's just too corporate/generic feeling for my taste).

I will admit that when I stayed at the Hyatt, using Priceline, I had a lower floor on a weekend night, and the socializing that went on until the wee hours, essentially right out on the front sidewalk of the Hyatt, was perhaps more noise than most could take.
Come to think of it that was the night before the super bowl, in mid winter, so consider how it could be in August.
With that said, if I pushed the button on Priceline and was awarded that hotel again, I would not regret it. (just that some people would, and they would have reasonable justification)
