We have 10 days to spend in July..anniversary trip, no kids...how much time should we dedicate to Vancouver and how much time elsewhere...should we do the Okanagan or should we take the ferry over to the Island? Is Whistler a not-to-miss??

To me Whistler is a miss, though I do love the drive along Howe Sound, highway conditions permitting.

Where you go depends on what you want to do and see. Do you want to be by a lake or the ocean. Do you like heat? Do you want to drive or stay put? With ten days I might include the island, or the Okanagan (where it could be blazing hot), or I might do a circle route right out to the Rockies.

We have done the Rockies-Banff and Jasper- already...We want to be near the ocean unless the scenery inland beats that..A little on the move and a little relax downtime...

Well then Tofino on the island might be an ideal choice. You could add in Victoria or Parksville, or not.

We are out here in the Okanagan and love it ... but I also have fond memories of the Sunshine Coast, so it's all good.

So long as the sun is shining, you can't go wrong with either option.

While the Okanaganis lovely I don't think one could consider the scenery to be better than the coast.

You might want to look at visiting one or two of the Gulf Islands for a few days.

But Tofino is always a good bet.
