Unexpected overnight in Vancouver - hotel/restaurant suggestions

We are unexpectedly going to be traveling to Peachland, BC to visit a friend who has had an accident and is immobile for the foreseeable future - we will have an overnight in Vancouver because our flight arrives too late to drive east. We would like to stay somewhere in or near the city center and have a nice dinner - oysters are on our minds.

Any suggestions for hotel / restaurant? Thank you.

It’s been a few years, but I’d say Blue Water Cafe is my favorite seafood option in Vancouver. And I’ve stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel. Stellar central location, so if you have the budget, I’d stay at 4 seasons across the street. The Metropolitan was likely the cheapest/best located hotel when I stayed there—I remember it being solid but not especially fantastic. Concierge was nice.

If you’re looking more for extreme budget, because Vancouver is expensive in the summer, I’ve also stayed at Vancouver YWCA Hotel and it was well located, clean, and comfortable.
