Trip report -- a weekend in Victoria!
Just returned from a fabulous weekend in Victoria! We took Kenmore Air's seaplane from Lake Union up to Victoria -- what a thrill, and just 35 minutes. If you want to splurge a bit, it sure is a delightful convenience.
We stayed at the Gatsby Mansion. I had read mixed reviews, but must say we were quite pleased! I was there with my husband, 1 year old and my father. The Mansion is beautiful, walking distance from downtown. Yes it's a bit older, but that's the charm! The rooms are quite sweet - we have not one complaint! Breakfast is fantastic -- served downstairs, they offer breakfast vouchers. Definitely recommend it!
We spent a day shopping and strolling around downtown. Great shops, pubs and restaurants. The second day we took the bus to Butchart Gardens. What a thrill that was! Just gorgeous! Came back to Victoria, had lunch......took one of the little boats in the pier around for a quick tour and caught a 5:30 flight back to Seattle. By 6:30 we were home and grilling up dinner!
