Travel route to return to ME.

My husband & I will travel from Bar Harbor to Nova Scotia by CAT in July. We have a return reservation as well, but after reading posts on this site we are considering driving back to ME via New Brunswick. Is this a good idea? Is there enough to see or will we be wasting a day just driving. Any ideas for places to visit along the way. Can anyone tell me how far it is from Sackville to Calais?
Thank you!

Last September we crossed from Digby, Nova Scotia to New Brunswick and spent a night in St. Andrews. Very pretty town with some cute shops and nice restaurants. From there, it's just a short drive to St. Stephens (I think that's the name) and then Calais on the other side of the river.

I agree, St. Andrews is a wonderful spot to spend the night before driving back into Maine. However, if you want to take the long route once in the US, there isn't much to see, but not much traffic as well. Depends on your time limits.

If you are looking for ideas on where to
stay in St Andrews, please post and let
me know. I have friends who own an Inn
there.

HI Sherril,
I am looking for a place to stay in St. Andrews mid-July for 2 women and a granddaughter. Could you tell me the name of the inn your friend owns and its email address? Thanks

They are lovely people and I'm certain
the Inn reflects them!
