Train/bus Banff-Jasper

I am trying to plan a trip for the end of Aug. (flying home on Sept. 8th), landing in Seattle on the 29th and planning to catch the Amtrak train the next morning(Fri.) From there I had hoped to combine travel on VIA (for the experience) and Moose Travel Network (for its ability of seeing more). However, it looks like the train goes to Jasper and the Moose trips I'm looking at start in Banff. So, I am wondering the distance between the two, and how we could get from one to the other.
Thanks.

Brewster Transportation runs buses and tours along the Icefields Parkway, between Jasper and Banff.

Hmmm, thanks for touting your service. Only problem is the OP is asking about getting between Jasper and Banff, which you do not do. kwonder, as mentioned, Brewster Tours operates on this route - they are the only service in summer; in winter, it's done by Sundog Tours.

We have booked Brewsters to travel between Jasper and Banff late September. It sounds like a great trip, going on to the Icefields as well as stopping at other sightseeing spots on the way. Sounds the best way to go unless you have your own transport. It leaves Jasper around 8:00 am, depending where your accommodation is, but I'm not sure when it arrives in Banff. It cost around $355 for the two of us.

FYI: the Brewster counter is in the east half of the ViaRail station and the bus picks you up right outside.
There is a rental car counter in the ViaRail side of the station and there are other rental car agencies within easy walking distance.
