Toronto here we come

Need to know a few things...We're coming to Toronto at the end of July- hubby's home town but he hasn't been there in almost 30 years. Is the Windsor Arms or Park Hyatt preferable? Have reservations at Susur Lee..need suggestions for Greek restaurants..any "must sees" for his American family?
Thanks so much!!!

hi there!
i thought i'd take a sec to respond as the "Greek" requests caught my eye!

Along the Danforth (the east end of Bloor St. across the Don Valley), you'll find Greektown. For fast, kid-friendly, inexpensive, but great quality Mr. Greek is the place at Carlaw.

For a more upscale, try Pappa's Grill. If you want Fri/Sat night action Myth has great appetizers and high class pool tables.

For very eclectic and no-cares wallets, Lolita's Lust is Robert Deniro's hangout.

Both hotels are in the expensive shopping district of Yorkville (Bay/Bloor). If the family is into Tea then Windsor Arms wins. Otherwise, check out www.toronto.com for more details.

Diane may have thought she was being clever. The garbage strike has been settled and workers are back on the job today. That's great news!

I think I posted earlier about Greek restaurants, but maybe you didn't see it. I like Ouzeri, Mezas, Pan (owned by the same people who own Lolita's Lust). Myth and Pappas Grill (mentioned in Kim's post) are also good. Instead of Mr. Greek, I prefer Friendly Greek (we usually order in from them so I've never actually eaten in the restaurant). Several of the restaurants serve frappe, which is the Greek iced coffee. It's made with Nescafe, which doesn't all that special, but it's totally delicious. If you just wander along the Danforth, you'll find loads of Greek restaurants.
