Tentative Plans
(Continuation of my posting under QC)
We are staying at the Luckenbooth B&B in St Ann’s 4 nights. We for sure want to drive the Cabot Trail, Go to the National Park and visit Louisbourg with our 3-days of sightseeing. Any comments or thoughts regarding our time on the Island? The next 4-days will be at the Havenside B&B in Tantallon (near Halifax). We for sure want to see Peggy”s Cove, Lunenberg and the Wolfville area but we are open to suggestions (perhaps we should drive up through Truro to Parrsburg one of the days). From Tantallon we go to the Bread and Roses B&B in Annapolis Royal for 3 nights. We are really open to suggestions from there (possibly spending one day driving to Yarmouth and one day at the Kejimkujic National Park). From Annapolis Royal we go to the Florentine Manor near Hopewell Cape NB for 2 nights. From there we go to Bass Harbor in Arcadia National Park in Maine.
Any thoughts or comments are welcome.

You might want to re-post with more specific questions. But let me wish you a wonderful trip to a beautiful part of Canada/North Eastern US.
When in the Lunenburg area (aka South Shore) you should also see Mahone Bay and Chester/Chester Basin. Many charming stores, restaurants and I can expand on either if you wish. Or if you are more into hiking, check out the Ovens Park.
If you haven't already got the Nova Scotia Tourism "Doers and Dreamers Guide", it is a must for the entire province.
BTW, just for accuracy, I think you are staying in Acadia National Park (not Arcadia) in Maine: you should check out their webiste. And make a side trip to Blue Hill/Castine/Stonington/Cape Rosier if you want to see how Maine seaside holidays used to be

Thanks for your reply. We are primarily interested is the senic beauty and lighthouses, not hiking. so your comment re the south shore was great for the resturants. Your right about Acadia (the Bass Harbor area),so we'll try to take in Blue Hill etc. We're staying in Bangor

Maine is glorious in September. Bangor is a good central location for sightseeing in the general area. Though it is not everybody's cup of tea (somewhat rundown downtown, it has charm if you dig a little deep. There is an excellent bookstore right downtown and a lovley park beside the river with a very good brewpub nearby.
All those places I mentioned in the previous post are maybe an hour/hour and a half drive away. Bar Harbour itself is great, too. In the Bangor area, you should check out Old Town, the home of the canoes and kayaks with an excellent native goods store across the road and the amazing original Pat's Pizza nearby.
We have been holidaying in this area ofr 25 years now and this is the first time we will be missing and only because we have bought our own dream-house-by-the-sea in Nova Scotia...you will have a fine time!
