Short Cabot Trail hikes?
My 71-year-old mother and I will be driving the Cabot Trail in one day's time in July. Given her age and our limited time, can anyone recommend any short but scenic hikes along the trail? Probably 1 mile or less would be best. Thanks for your help!

The link below is to a list of hikes and descriptions. The only one I definitely recall doing is #7, the bog walk. Short, easy and worthwhile.

There must be a typo on that Web site; the Lone Shieling is a very short trail (0.8 km sounds right, but not the 2-3 hours hiking time the site shows). We enjoyed this trail - no dramatic views but very interesting, with the replica of a crofter's hut and beautiful forest.
