Shopping favorites in Montreal?

Shopping favorites in Montreal?
Will have 3 nights in Montreal to see the sights and shop. Much information on shopping areas but can't find much on favorite haunts or shops. Looking for men and women's suits, shirts/blouses, ties, shoes and casual clothing. Not the high end prices, areas and stores that would have sales on fashion.

You might want to look in Winners, place montreal trust; Moores for men can't be beat for price and quality; although the summer sales are starting so just browsing along ste catherine st at the various stores could be fun for you.

I asked the desk clerk at Hotel XIX de Siecle where to go to find a special bargain. Turned out he was a fashion design student. He sent me to an area on the outskirts of Montreal where there are a number of fashion warehouses. They are open to the public only occasionally.

My favourite is Jeune Amérique on St-Denis, just south of Rachel. Anyway, you can't go wrong shopping on St-Denis between Mont-Royal and Sherbrooke metro. Lots of cool shops! On Mont-Royal also

Like the others said, Simons would be a good place to start. There are so many shops downtown, that you won't have a hard time finding anything.
The area cmcfong is referring to is Chabanel St. It's in the north of the city between St-Laurent and De l'Acadie Streets. It's the fashion district - many clothes are made there - and on Saturday mornings they open their doors to the public. Often it's cash only and you have to contend with crowds. The shops are on upper floors of office buildings, so you have to go into the lobby and see where to go from there.
