We, DW and I, are taking a rather impulsive trip to Victoria in late June, and want to see how easy/hard it is to do such a trip using only public transport. We have been there by car before, but noticed how efficient the buses seemed to be. Thought we would give it a try to see if our aging bones are up to the challenge, and to see how traveling that way would differ from the usual American tourist jaunt; insulated inside a gas guzzler.

We will be traveling from Anacortes in Washington State by ferry, and public transportation to Victoria on Sunday, June 28th, via Sidney, and will return on Wednesday, July 1st, which is Canada Day. I have looked up the Sunday bus schedule from Sidney to Victoria, but can't seem to find if the Canada Day schedule for our return to Sidney will be the same as a Sunday schedule, a week day schedule, or something different. We want to leave Victoria in time so we can be early enough to catch the 11:20 pm ferry back to Anacortes.

Does anyone know the answer, or where I can look?

Whoops, that is 11:20 am, not pm for the ferry we need to catch in Sidney.

I found on the Translink schedule page they list the holidays and what schedule to follow for that day. For Canada Day they say to follow the Saturday schedule. I know you will enjoy Victoria without a car - you really don't need one so have a great time!!

Just to confirm that you read the right schedule - The old schedule is in effect when you arrive but the new one is in effect for July 1st. So you would have to leave Government and Superior on the 7:31am bus or at latest 8:28 am.
