The three best restaurants in the area are, for my money, the Waring House in (near) Picton, Angeline's in Bloomfield and the Gables in Brighton ( slightly northwest of the actual County). Do a website search for Thanksgiving activities in the County--there are some (we were there yesterday) but I can't recall at the moment. Once you're there, anybody will tell you, in any case; the area ain't that big. Do a Google search, using Prince Edward County Ontario and see what you come up with.

Don't miss the Waupoos area with its apple orchards, and newly operating wineries (one at least with a restaurant). Make sure you prowl around Bloomfield and Wellington (pretty, pretty) and check out the Black River Cheese factory in Milford.

You've chosen a great venue for the holiday!

DES

All of David's ideas are good. Check out their website pec.on.ca. There's info on activities, restaurants, etc. We really liked Waring House, Angeline's and The Hidden Bistro. We also went up to Lake on the Mountain, very pretty.

thanks david and chris...we plan on having a "splurge" night for one dinner. Any places that are not quite as expensive for the other one? We like pubs, ethnic food restaurants.

Hi, Thanks:

The County ain't very ethnic (you're in Loyalist country, Anglo, Anglo-Irish, Scots, etc). We had breakfast at the Village Green Cafe in Wellington yesterday, and they would probably have a better handle on the ethnic, or "cheap and cheerful" scene in the County. It's a great place for breakfast and probably lunch, so if your mood takes you that way, ask. I suspect that anything that even remotely smacks of ethnic will be in Picton. We're not talking urban diversification here. Over to Chris.

DES
