Planning Honeymoon in Quebec City and Charlevoix in July
Hi, my fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for June 29th-July 5th in Quebec City and surrounding areas. We'll really only have five full days when you take away driving days to/from. We'd like to spend maybe 2 nights in Old Town and the rest somewhere scenic where we could hike, kayak, etc. Suggestions on an itinerary?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You can't go wrong with Charlevoix. Make Baie Saint-Paul or La Malbaie (Pointe-au-Pic area) your home base. You'll find plenty of opportunities for hiking, kayaking, etc. in and around each town. Plenty of small and beautifull hotels, restaurants, shops, etc... You'll have plenty to do.
Parc des Grands Jardins and Parc des Hautes-Gorges de la Rivière Malbaie are both great recreation areas. Ile-aux-Coudres is great for biking (flat!). If you have time, drive up to Tadoussac for whale-watching.
From Quebec City, Route 138 east to Baie Saint-Paul. Then 362 east (shore road) to La Malbaie.

Hi Bigal2008, just noticed your comment. We booked Augerge Saint Antoine for Quebec City and then Cap Aux Corbeaux for Baie St. Paul in Charlevoix. Still working out the details though. We're going to go up by Tadoussac/Les Bergonnes to kayak one day and camp nearby on the water and that may flip things a little bit. So much to see in a short period of time!

You'll find Auberge St Antoine to be beyond beautiful, charming and honeymoon-ish. Great choice...we loved our stay there a few years ago..a most unique, elegant establishment, "today's news"...I'm happy you didn't choose the "usual" up on the hill...Ch. Frontenac..we thought it was musty and boring..just visiting their lobby felt like cobwebs growing on your shoulders...."yesterdays news"...
The choices for lunch and dinner in Lower Town are myriad...
the bar at the Auberge is a great one.
The numerous artifacts on display throughout the hotel are fascinating. Be sure to get a room with the river view.
Congratulations on your pending marriage.
