Our 2 day Toronto Trip Report

Just got back from Toronto. It was awesome as always. Stayed at the Sheraton which is connected to the Bay via the PATH. I couldn't quit shopping. The 5th floor at the Bay is an entire Christmas floor with thousands of Christmas items, the toy dept. and Santa. It is a must for any Christmas shopper. Went to the Eaton Centre and hit Old Navy, Gap Kids, Pottery Barn and other stores that don't exist in my home town. Took my hubby to Nevada Bob's, a great golf store. Walked from the Sheraton to Spadina St. along Queen St. Some cool stores like Lush, are located along this stretch of Queen. Went to the Loomis art supplies store on Spadina. By this time I was tired so I took the streetcar back to the Sheraton. We had dinner one night at the Boiler House in the Distillery District. The next night we decided to check out Little Italy. As we had no idea where it was, we asked a cabbie to take us. He took us right there ($10 from the Sheraton). We walked around checking out the restaurants, and settled on Giovanna's. It was wonderful. Big brick pizza oven, delicious pasta. Everyone from the street vendors to the streetcar drivers were very friendly and helpful. I can't wait for my next Toronto trip!
ps One downside - the Shaeraton is charging $8 to guests who wish to use the fitness room.

Hi Borealis,
I did not see the parade live, but I watched it on TV at home. It was great, and we hope to see it next year with our daughter. How busy are the hotels etc. during the parade?

Hello Lolly,
I don't know how busy the hotels are during the Santa Claus parade; it may depend on what else is going on in Toronto at the time (and how far in advance you make reservations).

This year the Royal Winter Fair ended on the same day as the Santa Claus parade.

So, on Saturday, before the parade, lots of hotels have lots of RWF guests.

But genrally, on a November weekend, chances are pretty good tha there will be lots of available rooms.

Glad you had a wonderful time!
I'm actually driving up this weekend with my husband and I was wondering if you came across bargain priced clothing stores. I live in NYC and pretty much get anything and everything, but not always at the right price. I'd appreciate any tips!
