NS or NB or NFLD
We are planning on taking a bus tour to the east coast from Ontario. With so many options, I am not sure which provinces and or areas would be the best to visit. I would be very thnakful for any suggestions. I would love to see whales!

Just keep in mind that Newfoundland is an 8 hour ferry ride from Nova Scotia and it is very expensive if you are taking a car on the ferry. I spent 9 days in Nova Scotia last year and loved every minute of it. I didn't feel that I had missed anything by not going to other provinces.

I have heard NFLD is awsome. I have never been. I have seen some bus tours that do both NS and NB. If you could do that then that would be cool. Both of those provinces have a lot to do. I actually find us a lot alike. That is why they group PEI, NB, and NS as the Maritimes. We have all go ocean, seafood, beaches and whale watching. NS has a major city, with casino's, Cape Breton is amazing, and Fort Louisburg is great. NB has wonderful scenery, Hopewell Rocks which is where you can walk on the ocean floor, I am sure a tour would include St. Andrews which is a historic resort town.

I think no matter which one you pick, you won't be sorry. I don't know as much about NFLD, but any one I have ever met from there have been so friendly, and funny. Just watch out when they Screech you in...

Just to clear up what Carrie said, its not an 8 hour ferry ride to NF.

From North Sydney, NS to Argentia, NF (a two hour drive from St. John's) the ferry ride is 14 hours and costs $270 for two people a nd a car one way.

From North Sydeny to Port-aux-basques, NF it is a 5-6 hour ferry with a 10 hour drive to St. John's, and it costs about $120 one way for a car and two people.

It is well worth that to visit!
