No Car Travel
My boyfriend and I are traveling to Halifax in July. We do not have a car and we are wondering if it will be possible to travel from Halifax to the Cape Breton National Park using an alternate means of transport (bus, shuttle, hitchhiking?).

I'm pretty sure that "Acadian Lines" has a daily trip from Halifax to Cape Breton. What part of the National Park were you interested in? If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest getting a copy of the Provincial tour guide (called "Doers and Dreamers) by calling 1-800-565-0000. The guide is full of great information about all areas of Nova Scotia.

The Acadian Lines will only take you as far as Baddeck. From there you would have to find alternate means of getting to the Park which begins at Ingonish or the other side of the trail at Cheticamp. Don't know of any shuttles that would provide that.
