Can anyone suggest a nice hotel near the Rideau canal in Ottawa. Our family with two kids will be there this weekend to skate. Need a pool for the kids in nice location for all of us. Thank you for your input.

It's certainly one of Ottawa's pricier hotels (Is it the priciest? Not sure.) and I don't know what your budget is, but the Chateau Laurier would certainly be ideal. Great! I'm sure you will enjoy the hotel. It's also right across from the Rideau Centre, should you wish to do some shopping. <BR> <BR>I should warn you that we've had a little warm weather here in Ontario this week. While skating on the canal is still permitted, the condition of the ice is apparently not great at the moment. I'm hoping they'll have it fixed for you by the weekend! <BR> <BR>You can check the condition of the ice at http://www.capcan.ca/explore/seasonal/rideau_e.shtml, and you can get the Canadian Government weather forecast for Ottawa at http://weather.ec.gc.ca/forecast/yow.html. It looks like it will be below freezing for the rest of the week, so your odds are good. Have a great time!
