Niagara Falls/N-O-T-L timing question, need help planning!

We'll arrive at Niagara Falls around 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, and spend the night at the Marriott Fallsview, returning to Toronto the following day.

I'd like to see a play at the Shaw Festival in N-O-T-L at 7 p.m. Saturday. Is that realistic? Can we do the Maid of the Mist tour (long lines in July I'm sure) and trip around the Falls a bit, then get a taxi and maybe have an hour or two before the show to see N-O-T-L?

Sure, you can do that.

I wld do the reverse. I wld stay in NOTL....maybe Queen's Landing & visit NF. Tour NF when you arrive on the GO train. Find a place to store your stuff... a locker at a hotel? at the train station? Then from NF, take a taxi to your NOTL hotel, stroll to the the play & a late dinner afterward. (or early dinner b/f play if that suits you better). Then just stroll back to your hotel in NOTL. On Sunday take a taxi ( or shuttle of you hotel has one) to NF train station for the GO back to TO & then over to Island airport for your flight back to YOW.

Absolutely... before you check into the Hotel, have a drive around the Falls for a general feel of the area and a viewfrom the car... then check into the Hotel (or at least, drop your car and bags)... you can wander the area around the hotel and even visit the casino...

You can then get on the Incline railway ($2.50)down to street level and purchase a $10 all day ride on the Peoplemover busses... they will take you all along the Falls Route including the Maid of the Mist ( they run constantly all day with several boats so the wait is short)... that puts you at about two or three PM....

Head back to the hotel to clean up and change and you can take a leisurely drive of twenty minutes along the Niagara Parkway... stop along the way at Reif Winery, Inniskillen, and Peller for some wine tasting before a walk in the village and perhaps a bite at one of the outdoor cafes... Plenty of time before the show... have fun

It is much better to drive yourself to NotL to allow stops and the ease of getting back to the Falls after the show...

I'm reading above that there's no car...

From the train station, you can get the peoplemover passes and ride to the incline railway... then up to the hotel... then follow along the above directions... the hotel will get you a taxi or car to NotL but prearrange your ride back after the show....

Thank you so much OceanBreeze and Garyt. I think I want a room with a view of the Falls to maximize our Falls experience, so I'll stick with that plan. Great tip about the peoplemover passes at the train station. And about prearranging the return taxi ride. Will the peoplemover actually take us from the train station to our hotel? Now to get tickets to a play!

Another question: there is a shuttle at 4 p.m. to N-O-T-L from the bus station. Is that reasonable to get to or should we just take a taxi from the hotel?
