Niagara Falls Tour?
Hi we're going to be in TO on Apr 1st and again on Apr 16-18 and we'd like to see the Falls. What's the best or cheapest way to see them? Rent a car and drive? if so how long is the drive? Or are there escorted tours that are affordable? We'll be pressed for time, so would like to make the arrangements before we leave. <BR> Also, we'll be staying at the Celebrity Budget Inn (airport) and at the Quality Inn downtown, any comments on these???

Call 1-800-Ontario for transportation options between Toronto and Niagara Falls. There's also a number of tour companies listed at www.destinationniagara.com

I would probably vote for driving but I see the 1st is a Sunday and that is not the day I would choose to go. Your second set of dates are better. The drive should take you about one and a half hours on a good day. You don't want to leave until about 9:30 a.m. and head right to the Maid of the Mist boat ride. They give you raincoats but either take off your shoes or wear footwear that can get wet. Do you want to go to the Casino? On the way back you can stop at one of the Vineyards for lunch and/or a tour.

Why is Sunday a bad day to be Niagara Falls? I've organised a suprise anniversary trip for my husband and we will be staying there on a Saturday and Sunday in the beginning of July. Is it not advisable because it will be too busy, or are there any other reasons I should know about? Thanks for your help.

My guess is that the poster was advising against driving to Niagara Falls on a Sunday because the QEW is busy, however that problem would not hamper a April drive to N. F.. Sundays in the summer can be very popular in Niagara and sometimes the traffic is very heavy from Hamilton to N.F. Karen
