Niagara Falls in a Day or More

Forgive me if I have posted this twice but can't find my original posting ?
We are a couple of Brits trying to Niagara & New York State in 5 days so it looks as if Niagara is one evening & 1 morning. We are intending to fly on to Buffalo after arriving in Newark. We will probably arrive around 4 pm on a Thursday.I have heard the Canadian side is best but I have no idea. How easy & costly is getting to a hotel with a good view but not costing an Arm & a leg.
We will probably leave Buffalo at 2pm the next day. Will we have enough time to see must see sights ? We are quite happy to rise early in the morning.
All info really appreciated.
Kathy

Try typing "Niagara Falls" into the search box (above), and a whole lot of postings will come up, including some for accommodation etc.
You might also want to try looking at the US forum for information on travelling from Buffalo to Niagara.

Good luck!!

We spent 3 days exploring Niagara Falls (canadian side) in July 2002. In my opinion, one of the "must do" is The Maid of the Mist boat tour.

Have fun!

It really depends what you'll call "must see". You can take a picture of the falls, and called it quit. Or you can walk along the promenade, go take the Maid of the Mist boat, or walk in the caves behind the falls...

Then you can go downstream and take the cable car over the whirlpool, visit the wax museums and other stores, and/or go to the casino.

Finally, you can drive north and go to small town of Niagara-on-the-Lake to walk around. But overall, I'll say one full day is probably enough if you have only 5 days total. And definitely cross over to the Canadian side and stay there.

If you don't mind paying a little more, try staying in one of the high-rise hotels with a view of the falls, like Marriott Fallsview. Compared to London and New York City prices, hotel rates in Canada should be quite affordable.

Your original posting is on the United States board (I know, cuz I posted a reply to it)! It has the same title as this one...."Niagara Falls in a Day or More."

Good luck!
